This article describes how to set up email forwarding

There are two ways to set up email forwarding:

To manage your domain's email fowarding address(es) via your Webnames.ca account:

  1. Sign in to your Webnames.ca account

  2. Navigate to My Account > Email Accounts

  3. Click the domain name for which you want to add/edit email accounts.

  4. On the current Email tab, under the Actions heading, click the Log In button beneath Email Administration to access the Email Administration portal.

  5. In the Email Administration portal, click Mail Accounts on the left.

  6. To create a new account to forward, click the Add Mail Account button

  7. To edit the forwarding of an existing account, click the applicable Account Settings button

  8. Under the Mail Forwarding section, enter one or more email addresses to forward email to

    1. If desired, check Keep a copy to retain a copy of the forwarded email within the email account being managed

    2. If desired, check Preserve To and CC fields to have the forwarded email retain the same recipients as the original email. With this setting off, each forwarded email will simply be addressed to the email you are forwarding.

  9. Check the Activate mail forwarding box

  10. Click Save Changes when done

To manage your email forwarding address via webmail:

  1. Sign in to your email account via webmail

  2. Click Preferences on the far left, and then click Copy All Mail To

  3. Enable the Copy All Mail to toggle in the upper right, and then:

    1. Enter the email address to copy(forward) all email to

    2. If desired, toggle Keep the original to retain a copy of the forwarded email within the email account being managed

    3. If desired, toggle to NOT forwarded automatic messages such as mailing list messages, error messages, redirected and mirrored messages and other non-human created emails

    4. Select the type of forwarding to use:

      1. Send on behalf of this Account: If this option is selected, forwarded email, once received at its destination, will appear to be from this email account.

      2. Keep the Original sender Address: If this option is selected, forwarded email will appear to be from the original sender

    5. Send unchanged Copy: If this option is selected, not only with the email appear to be from the original sender but message header information is also left untouched. This method of forwarding is generally the preferred option.

  4. Click Apply in the top right
