To renew a Webnames.ca domain:

Webnames.ca offers two primary options for managing the renewal of your domains or services: automatic renewal and manual renewal. Automatic renewal ensures uninterrupted service by charging the saved payment method before expiration, whereas manual renewal offers more control and reduces the chance of unexpected fees.

  1. Select the domains you wish to renew from the displayed list

  2. Click on Renew Selected in the top right.

  3. In the shopping cart, choose the number of years you wish to renew for, along with any bundled services.

  4. On the payment information page, select the desired method of payment and click Next.

  5. Provide payment information as prompted and click Submit Payment

  6. If a deferred payment method was selected (such as cheque or online banking), then payment information will be displayed on the screen.

  7. Upon receipt of payment, the domain renewal(s) will be processed and a receipt issued via email.

Activate our secure and convenient Auto-Renewal Service

To disable auto-renewal and manually manage renewals, navigate to the Renewals and Billing section in your Webnames.ca account, locate the service, and toggle off the auto-renewal option. This option places the responsibility of timely renewals on the user.

To set your domain to auto-renew each year:

Automatic renewal provides peace of mind by reducing the risk of service disruption. However, for users preferring more control or involving organizational payments, manual renewal is a viable alternative.

  1. Click on the checkbox to the left of the domains you wish to change and click on Change Selected at the bottom

  2. Choose Credit Card as the method of payment, and select an existing card or enter new card information

  3. Click Save to apply your new payment method.
