If you have been given two or three new name servers to assign to your domain (e.g. ns1.yourhostingprovider.com etc.), take the following steps to assign them to your domain:

NOTE: Changing nameservers will affect the routing of all services for your domain. Ensure that all services for your domain (your website, your email etc.) are taken into account before switching. If you currently have email services with Webnames.ca and would like to continue using them, please see this page before updating your name servers.

  • Navigate to My Account > Manage > Domains

  • Click on the domain in question

  • Under the Domain Configuration heading, beside Assign Name Servers, click the click Configure button

  • Enter in the name servers to assign to your domain.

    • Note a minimum of two different name servers need to be assigned to your domain.

  • Click Apply to save your changes.

Optionally, you may save these name server assignments under a profile name for later re-use on other domains.

NOTE: After changing name servers, please allow up to one hour for the change to propagate across the Internet.
